Regular Maintenance

Regular Maintenance

Everyone wants to be able to turn their air conditioner on on the hottest day in Summer and have it work for them.

Most times this is the case, but sometimes, it doesn't work. It is important to regularly turn on your air conditioner and let it run for a few hours to test it and make sure everything is working correctly.

Make sure it is cooling and heating. Make sure the zone control is working on your ducted system.

Clean the filters to allow air flow through the system.

The benefit of this is not only should your air conditioner be working when the weather really heats up, but if there is any fault - you will be able to call and get a technician in reasonably quickly instead of waiting for the hot weather when everyone is crazy busy.

Call now to get your air conditioner checked or check it yourself and call if anything seems not right.

Enjoy your weekend.

Protect your air conditioner

Salt Water Effects On Your Air Conditioner

Everyone wants to live near the sea.

The cool breeze gently blowing on a hot afternoon.

The gentle sound of waves lapping the shore.

No one mentions the damage the salt in the air will do to your outdoor furniture. Your air conditioner. Your outdoor fan. Your car.

Unfortunately once it gets to this stage there is nothing we can do, apart from replace the unit.

To protect your new unit from ending up like this - we are recommending installation of an electronic rust prevention system called CAT III.
It has been proven to prevent rust from forming on vehicles and air conditioners exposed to the elements.

What better way to protect your investment. The CAT system is installed inside your outdoor unit so you don't even know it is there. The way you know it is working is that no rust will appear on your air conditioner.

Even units that have a small amount of rust can have the system installed. We can treat the existing rust and once the CAT system is installed it won't get any worse.

Call us today to learn more or to book a rust inspection. 07 5571 1395. Look forward to talking to you.

Cold Snap

Wow - what a cold week it has been here in South East Queensland. This picture was taken near Warwick.

If you haven't already, I think it is time to turn on those reverse cycles and get the heating started.

Nothing worse than going to turn on the heater, than to find out it is not blowing any warm air.

If you haven't turned your unit on for a while - give it a go just to check it is working. That way there is time for us to get our technician in to diagnose and repair before you really want to warm up.

With another couple of week with cold nights predicted now is the time to get yourself peace of mind and have your heater inspected to avoid the worst of the cold weather.

14 Day Forcast

We also have availability in the coming weeks for new installations.

If you have been thinking about getting a reverse cycle installed - DO IT. It is an economical way to heat your home instead of those little plug in heaters which use lots of electricity and are a fire hazard.

Winter is when you get your best bargains for installation prices. Summer is peak demand time, which means premium prices. Winter prices are great value and you get the added benefit of being warm after installation.

Give us a call today on 07 5571 1395 to book an appointment for your air conditioner tune up or for a no obligation, free quote for your new installation.

Is your air conditioner due for a tune up?

IS YOUR AIR CONDITIONER DUE FOR A TUNE UP?

Did you know that regular maintenance can extend the lifespan of you air conditioning system as much as seven years?

An Air Conditioner that is in need of a service could be costing up to 30% more on running costs.

Over time air conditioners can loose refrigerant. You may notice that the air conditioner is not heating or cooling as well as it used to, or you may notice nothing at all. If the unit is run with a low refrigerant level it will cause damage and premature failure of expensive components such as the compressor and/or condenser.

Such damage can be prevented by a simple six or twelve monthly service to your air conditioner. During a service the following procedures are carried out: check refrigerant levels, lubricant levels, cooling temperature, operating pressures, current draws, starting capabilities, condensing coil and proper air flow.
The filters, condensation drain and evaporator coil all get a clean also.

The benefits of these procedures is your air conditioner will have: improved efficiency, Restored capacity and extended equipment life.

Everyone gets their car serviced. Air conditioners are no different. They have a working engine and electrical parts that need attention.

The best time to solve a problem is before it happens. Preventative maintenance doesn't cost.......It Pays.

BayAir Air Conditioning services / repairs all brands of air conditioner. Give us a call on 07 5571 1395 to organize your service today.

Air Conditioning in Winter

As winter rolls in and the nights get colder, air conditioners start getting switched to heating.
Air conditioners are an energy efficient way of heating your home.

Some have the added benefit of having a timer to allow programming so you can wake to a toasty warm house in the morning.

It can get pretty cold during winter on the Gold Coast. With the sea breezes cooling things further, it is nice to have a warm, comfortable house to stay in.

Air Conditioners need regular servicing to operate to the best of their ability.

Refrigerant levels are checked, coils are cleaned and filters are washed. All of this maintenance will help your air conditioner to have the longest possible life.

If it has been a while since you have had your air conditioner serviced give Bay Air Air Conditioning a call on 07 5571 1395 to arrange a technician to inspect your system before we get into the middle of winter.

The added benefit is that once your air conditioner is serviced it will work more efficiently (using less electricity) in both winter and summer.
